wow. no one has anything to say about the addict. hmmmm...
i remember a time when nearly everyone was on a trek, but cr1's were super common too. mixed reviews, but they were *so* light. then the addict came out, and people wanted it, like... *really* badly.
the orbea orca made a splash. then cervelos were the IT bike. and then they were *too* popular and people started buying wiliers, looks, any tour bike that wasn't common on US streets.
the addict is a 790 gram frame ridden by highroad and cavendish and nobody has any feelings, one way or the other, about it? just not a cool bike anymore, i guess.
i can also get a TCR Advanced on the pro deal, but that would require a complete bike purchase, and what i want is a frame.

I ride an R2 and it has an integrated BB which is the only difference (other than color).
It is an amazing bike and I highly recommend it. I have ridden quite a few frames (including Cervelo), and for me, the Addict is the best.

Scotts are super light. An R3 built up with pedals needs a bottle cage to be UCI legal.
They have some of the best graphics in the business, IMO.
If you can get a prodeal on it, jump on it. Are there any *bad* bikes for 4+ thousand dollars these days?
As for differences, I believe it might just be the BB shell...

Difference between the R3 and the LTD or the R3 and the old CR1 SL that isn't made anymore?
The CR1's are jointed at the tubes and glued, then hand wrapped carbon around the joints for strength. The whole addict line has a headtube that is made as one piece with a part of the top and down tube. Then these are joined and bonded with the rest of the frame. The other joints are created in the way the CR1 is.
The difference in the Addict line is the carbon. AFAIK all the addict frames can be orded in ISP or normal if you go through the factory with the possible exception of the R4. They can also all be orded with normal or integrated BB. The difference in the models is the quality of carbon used. For instance, the R2 uses a lighter carbon than the R3.
All that aside, I have ridden Addicts and now own a CR1 Pro. The difference in feel is very small, but the addict is supposed to be a bit more comfortable without losing the stiffness of the CR1.

R3: Lower grade carbon than SL, and so it is a little bit heavier than SL.
SL: this is the 790 gram frameset, but that is before seatpost, headset, front der hanger, etc.
Also the SL CAN come with the integragted press-fit bearing bottom bracket (it is a different design from the BB30 on Specialized and Cannondale), and be aware that this is compatible ONLY with Shimano cranks.
I'd go for the SL, if I were you.
