Shoe problem?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shoe problem?

So today i just got my shoes that i ordered online, the problem is they might be too tight. I mean it's more like an exact fit, but I'm not sure if i should have a little wiggle room. Do you think i should return them and get the next size up, the problem is it's with nashbar so i don't know if i could wait that long. What do you think should i just go with them or return them?

When you put them on, did you force your ankle into the back of the shoe before tightening the strap?

1. put on the shoe
2. hold back of shoe, and force your ankle as far back as you can
3. snug up the ankle strap (not tight, just remove the slack), then other straps
4. wiggle big toe

If your big toe can feather the front of the shoe, then it is too big. If not, you're fine. Cycling shoes are technical shoes and should be more snug than walking shoes, but not where your toes touch the front.

No i didn't have to force the ankle in, do you reckon they're good? It's just the front of my shoes there's no room between my big toe and the front.

just wondering since im in the process of buying some shoes, what you mean exactly by feathering the front of the shoe?

Sorry, about that
