Your Weekend Rides
We haven't done this in a while!!
I'm still not riding yet, although last weekend I did unpack Machak, finally, and Rowan and I took our bicycles with us on a trip to Lakes Entrance (https://www.flickr.com/photos/1430288...7621198738131/) ............ however, it rained and was quite chilly almost all day on Saturday. Typical winter weather ... not conducive for a nice cycling afternoon.
Instead, I've been pursuing a new hobby ... baking in our fireplace! It's a bit of a workout doing all that, including collecting the wood, without the aid of anything electrical.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/1430288...7621039458509/
I have been getting out and walking every day, and if this coming week isn't too bad, I'll fill the tires of my mtn bike and take it out for a run.
But how about you? Where have you ridden this weekend? Where are you planning to ride this weekend? Post pics if you've got them!!

I'm on the way out the door to do a 113 mile ride around the Quabbin Reservoir. Training for the Pan Mass Challenge and my first brevet, a 300k, in September. If I have any pics worth posting when I'm back I will.

Leaving in an hour or so for my first group ride. Bicycle Club of Philadelphia, 28 miles Bit nervous!
UPDATE: Ended up being 32 miles... it was a Level D ride and I wasn't even breathing hard. I wanted to start at the absolute lowest level so as to get more comfortable riding in groups. Kicked it up with another rider for the last 5 miles, beat the group by about 20 mins. Wow, that felt amazing.
Going to the C- and C rides later this week, definitely.

Only did 80km/50mi today (Sat). Why? Because it was windy and I went out on the heavy bike with rear rack & dynamo hub.

haha, only 50mi... I'm *trying* 20mi today, furthest yet!
EDIT: 5mph headwind combined with quickly rising temperatures reduced it to a meager 14.39mi... but I am continuing to always be improving my average speed with every ride! 17mph!

I'd love to be riding today however the weather is not hold up well enough. Winds were gusting above 20 recently. However, next weekend I'm partaking in the Wish-A-Mile 300 here in Michigan. 3 day event starting Friday and ending Sunday. Traverse City to Chelsea. About 900 riders.

I am working this weekend but I did a fast ride with a bit of climbing and the early morning north wind is not so kind. There were some curvaceous views that made it fun.

Just got back from a hilly 60miler, well..about as hilly as they come around here.
Have a 55'ish miler tomorrow too! Then a nice rest week. Put in about 275 miles on the bike this week so the body will be happy with rest. Got to love working in education and having pretty quiet summers

No pics, because my cell battery was low. Just got back though. Ouch... legs are a little tired. Final ride numbers: 114.24 miles, 6600 ft climbing, 16.4 mph average (solo). Time for a shower and a pizza!

Broke in the new Tommasini with a 40 mile ride this morning.
That's 140 miles for the week when you add in my 100 miles of commuting.
But those are short 12 mile one way rides. I'm not used to doing 40 in one shot.

Did about 36 miles, halfway up a decent climb, stopped to eat a nutrigrain bar and found a piece of wire, glass, and a thorn in my rear tire, all leaving gapping holes in the tire but no tube showing.
On my way back I see 2 guys all suited up fixing a flat, I slow down and ask if they need a tube or air and they say no. About 6 miles later I notice my rear tire oing soft so I stop and inspect it to see if there is anything new in it or it just leaking slow. Those same two guys ride by and dont aknowledge me. I figure its slow enough for me to get home and but it wasnt. So I had my wife and son meet me at In-N-Out for some post ride proteins.

replaced my old selle italia seat with a toupe team last night in prep for today's 52 mile ride and loved every mile of it. Avg'ed 18mph even though i got dropped (expectedly) on the back end of the loop as the group kicked it up to 26mph.
grabbed up 3 more guys as the fast group kept dropping riders and brought it home at a 21mph pace.
best ride i've done thanks to the toupe (that's my story and i'm sticking to it).

I did 107 mile ride with 5300 ft in climbing averaging 17.8. It started out humid, then went to windy. It was a gorgeous day and I found some new roads that I will definitely ride in the future.

I'd been planning to go ride the Tour de Paris (in Paris, Texas, about 90 miles from here) today, but have been having flats right and left, so I opted for something closer to home, and did the non-drop ride at the local bike shop. Did manage to pass two people going up a hill, though.

No real riding for some time -- just back and forth to doctors' appointments. Finally (touch wood) beginning to feel a bit better.
Hoping to do a low key ride tomorrow, if I feel OK.

Did a 103 mile ride with a mild Civil War theme (didn't really stop to tour the battlefields -- just rode past them.)
Stafford to Fredricksburg (this did go through the battlefield park partially) to Chancellorsville to Remington, and back to Stafford.

Let's have some photos with the ride reports!
I wasn't on my bicycle at the time, but here's a nice shot of my local road.

Had a long tiring race yesterday.
Today I'll probably go for an easy spin with my padre.
