CO2 Cartridge Question..... which one?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Can someone tell me what C02 cartridges I need to have?

My tire is a michelin pro race 3, its recommended psi is 118 or so.

Thanks.

They come in 12 or 16 gram either one will work, depending on your inflater

I use 16 gram cartridges. They are able to inflate a 700x23 tire up to about 80-90 PSI, in my experience.

You also need to consider threaded Vs non-threaded. This depends on which CO2 nozzle your connecting to the cylinder. The non-threaded CO2 cartridges are a bit cheaper than the threaded, so I made sure to get a pump that accepts the non-threaded.

If your unit will accept non-threaded, get a 15-Pack of paintball cannisters from Walmart, for $8.96...they are 12 g which should be enough for approx 90PSI which is enough to get you home, and way cheaper than the bike-specific ones....and should last you several years!

+1 Datlas on CO2 from the paintball section.

This is combo pump/inflator I use from Nashbar.

It can pump manually and also inflates from a cartridge. The manual pump is handy to seat the tube & tire, then one shot from the cartridge and you are rolling again.
