Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Great weather. Group rides 6days/week.
I didn't want to jynx it but today got over the hump and got 1000miles. (might even shoot for 1200 for the month but never before had I done >600)

Biggest trick/factor (beyond awesome weather) I was disciplined to leave early enough to be able to ride to every meeting point. (even if directly from work which I typically loathe)

Now that I have 'that' goal out of my system, I can simply ride a lot and monitor my progress by how long I can pull and how fast I can sprint. (have to admit, I think those daily hammerfests actually impeded my top end speed but OTOH, it really helped me gain overall conditioning. Found myself able to dig deeper into the well to hold a wheel.

Props! In the past month and a half I have racked up over 700 miles. Granted the weather hasnt been the best, but I am not gonna let that stop me from achieving that high I only get from pushing myself hard each ride.
