Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Homebrew Brake Hoods

How do we feel about this? Have any examples? I was thinking something along the lines of electrical tape, but I'm not exactly sure of how one might wrap it. Surely there's someone out there who has a more elegant, DIY solution.

I used electrical tape to hold one together for a couple of weeks, while a new set was on order. Could not tell the difference with gloves on.

electrical tape? ewww
use that only if you have butter fingers.

if no direct replacement can be found, substitute with a similar design. on a lot of shimano aero brake levers, the design hasn't changed much since ultegra 6400

Hudz suck compared to:
1) OEM
2) Far & Near Hoods

Actually I am using "Far & Near" huds. They look and fit great. I use them on both of my bikes."bdcheung" has already provided the link. I have seen Hudz installed and I did not see any issues, but you may want to ask "bdcheung" about them.

The version I bought had exposed, unfinished seams from where they were molded, and the fit was not OEM-quality - i.e. they fit sloppily.
