Raising saddle = chafing?
When I bought my road bike they threw in a fit at the shop by the local fit guru. The seat height was really uncomfortable for me. I tried it for a couple of rides and really did not like it at all. I lowered the seat to about the level of my old bike (around an inch) and rode. I have been slowly raising the seat by around 1/8" every month or so. After the last adjustment I made, the next ride I had chafing issues about halfway through a 25 mile ride. I did not use any chamois cream and have not had this problem before.
Should I lower the seat and just leave it there? It is within 3/8" of where the fitter put it. Has anyone had problems chafing after saddle adjustment?

If the saddle is high enough that it's causing you to rock your hips from side to side as you pedal then yes, it's too high. If the saddle is at the correct height in terms of leg extension and you're getting chafing, then maybe it simply doesn't suit you and you need a different saddle.
