For the shoes that I'm getting ( specialized comp road 08 ) what type of pedal is the bang for my buck or are most pedals equally good in quality? The specialized takes Look/SPD-SL bolt pattern.

Your top choices (in my opinion) include Look Keo, Shimano SPD-SL, and Speedplay Zero. All three are ridden by professionals.
