Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

One of my LBS's has an '02 R400 for $600. Since I've been primarily shopping Treks, I'm not very knowledgeable on Cannondale Roadies. Is this a good deal. The frame is a tad large (60cm and I probably need more like a 58) but the price is within my range. I've been riding a '99/'00 Trek 2000. It's either sink a few hundred into the Trek w/ a general overhaul or get the R400. What would you do?

TIA

Update the Trek with the money you would otherwise spend on the R400 and you will have a better bike - in my opinion. I have been riding C-dale's for years and think they are great bikes, but to be fair you would want to compare bikes at equal levels. Others who are more famaliar may want to jump in, but isn't the Trek 2000 frame closer to the C-Dale R600?
