Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2) The word "Faith" written on the frame. I understand that it has special meaning to you. For me, I don't like it. I like the "Soul" on the bike, but I don't like to have two different huge logos on frames. Just doesn't look right to me. Do you see Trek, Specialized, Merlin, Litespeed, etc doing this? No. You know why? Because it screams stupid looking. And I don't really like the word "faith" written on the bike, and I am VERY religious. It just looks stupid on a bike. I have faith. I don't want it written on my bike.

3) Just my personal opinion, above. Sorry, if it was too harsh. I was considering joining the group buy, but like others I have decided not to. Why? The word faith is so stupid looking written on a bike. I know you have your own reasons why you want it on there, but you could've made a lot more money if you would cater to the demands of the people instead of your own convictions.

Like the design and finish, but the weight is bit disappointing. Typical aluminium frame weight around 1200gr and light ones(bianchi fg lite for example) are around 1050gr. BB30 is very nice but there are limited number of BB30 cranks available yet.

I think this frame won't appeal to weight weenies, but for those who want to build a solid race bike, this frame will be great.

Built

Here are a couple of pics of the frame built. Note that the fork is not the final version but since the forks have not arrived we have used another white fork we use for our other frame, hence the uncut steerer. Will shoot some better pics once the final fork arrives.

The frame is built as such:

Shifter + Rear D: Sram Rival
Brakes: Soul Frixion
Crankset: FSA Gossamer (unmoded)
Wheelset: Soul C4.0
Bar + Stem + Seatpost: Soul Aluminium
Saddle: Soul Union

Overall weight not including pedals and cages is 7.1kg / 15.65lbs.

Frame weight has been cut by 50g as we changed the tubing spec. I will post up the expected weights for all sizes later in the day.

Groupbuy price is USD350 excluding shipping (I'm only including this here as many people have asked. I will update the groupbuy thread accordingly). It will include:

Frame
Fork
Headset
BB Adapter

We will also offer the gossamer and Force BB30 cranksets as options.

No kidding. I just bought a new bike, but if I happen to run into some cash soon... that would make a really great crit/backup bike.

And I just wanted to add...

Sean, the fact that the word "Faith" on the frame would actually encourage me to buy one.

Stick to your guns dude...no excuses, no regrets.

Nice work Sean. Thanks for finally putting up a price. A long time coming, but looks like the wait's been worth it. Again, nice work. Should sell well. Nice finish. Nice material. Nice price. (At this price there can be NO complaining about aesthetics.)

P.S. White fork is hot. Even if it is still in the Soul Trinity graphics.

Yes, these are our new decals. In fact most of the wheels will have new decals when the new stock is released. However do note the Carbon rim decals need a little more time as they were done in a gloss finish and we are waiting for replacements.

The complete bike as shown is approx 2.1K USD. Seatpost is 27.2mm. We don't have pics of other frame sizes as of yet.

Just finished discussions with our manufacturer and unfortunately the frame weight cannot be reduced as we are already making them triple butted and they are pretty thin gauge right now. Generally the frame weights are +50g per size up. Final weights will be confirmed shortly.

Any idea of the M/L frame weight (I remember small size being 1200 grams IIRC)? Is it gooing to be around 1300 grams? And any idea how much the shipping will cost for East Coast USA?

Thanks,

God-DAMN that is one sexy bike!!! Damn shame I just bought a Streetfire and am about to get a Damocles, else I would have been on this like a priest on a 10 year old (to keep the religious theme going).

As is, I will take consolation in the fact that most people on the group buy will be getting humped on international shipping rates for frames. Welcome to my world, suckas.
