Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Used 2007 Cervelo Soloist, will it fit?

There's a used 2007 Cervelo Soloist team I'm going to look at this weekend. The size is 54 and I'm 5'6.5". Will this fit me ok with some adjustment?

Most of the research I've been doing has been on the S1, is the fork on the Soloist Team also full carbon? Were there any problems with the wolf fork?

I have a photo of it below, do the bars and stem look stock to you?

Thanks in advance!

I'm your height and I own a 2006 Soloist in a 48. But I have short legs and I like smaller frames, so it may fit you, but you'd probably better test ride it first.

The fork has an aluminum steerer tube. I haven't had any problems with it.

I can't say if the bar and stem are stock because I bought mine as a frame and not as an assembled bike.

Curious, how long are your legs from your hip bone?

Oh geez so the 54 might be too big then it seems...It can be slightly adjusted by changing the stem and handle bars though right? What would make a bigger difference, the stem or the handle bars?

I think you could make it fit with an appropriate stem.
It also looks like a good deal for a bike in Vic.

I think it's going to be too big. You will probobly be able to stand over the top tube but you might be stretched out too far while trying to ride it. but hey have a look you never know right? Im 5'7 and I ride a 52" Roubaix and it's just right. Good luck

larger frame = longer headtube = less drop.

I'm about youur height and a 52cm fits best with a 54cm top tube.

I'm 5' 8 and I ride a 51 Soloist Team. Fits like a glove. IMHO I think the 54 will be too big. You never know until you try it though. I have short legs and a long torso.

You could ride it just would'nt be too aggressive of a fit or you could but the bike and sell the frame to me.
Just buy it because annodized is FTW.

I'm 5'6" and I ride a 51 with a 90mm stem

Stock in 2007 was FSA bars and stem.

If that is a black anodized frame, its from either 2005 or 2006. I have a 2007 frame and its anodized grey (and the other 2007 paint job was the silver/red paint).

Is more drop beneficial?

On their 2007 cervelo site it shows a black anodized frame. Is this frame not 2007? https://web.archive.org/web/200802141...x?bike=SLT2008

Seems a bit large. I'm 5'8" with a BB to saddle heights of 70cm and I rode a 51 with a 11cm stem. (Short legs longish torso)

from that archive site:

The Soloist Team comes in two versions. The first version is a gun-metal anodized frame, which is an indestructible finish for those who feel the need to get acquainted with the asphalt from time to time (which we do not recommend). The other version is a paint silver-red frame. Both versions are available with our Ultegra kit, while the silver-red frame is also available as a frameset.

The picture you mention is a csc rider in 2005 or 2006
