Did not feel up to going on the 7pm group ride...

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did not feel up to going on the 7pm group ride...

BUT.....then I pushed my lazy ass out of the house and put the bike in the back of the car. Stopped at an esspresso stand and got a refreshing iced latte and arrived at the LBS. About 10min later our 8 person group was on the road. 28 miles of lung burning hills and race pace pace-lines before the cool down and end.

Now that I'm home I feel AMAZING, much more awake than a few hours ago and I have that tired/loose muscle feeling that feels so good; so glad that I went

you guys have similar stories?

I remember waking up in the kahukus by some stooge saying we had a live fire exercise at 4am. I was tired as hell. I had to get up or I would have to clean the latrines every day once we got back to Garrison. Needless to say, I still felt like crap after the live fire, and those m-61s are loud, and sure are a doozy when you cook'em off. Definitely woke me up when I threw it in the bunker. I knew a guy who was blown up in another unit due to a possible faulty m-61. RIP D. R.

I think you may have your am's and pm's confused... Unless you are a real heavy sleeper.

I definitely feel you on this one. I was feeling to lazy to go to the Wednesday night group ride yesterday, but I forced myself to get on my bike, ride 10 miles to the meeting point, hammer out 20 miles, then cool down with another 10 miles to go back home. Best part about it was that I rode much harder and faster this week. It's a good way to gauge my fitness level since it's really hard to push myself so hard by myself.
