Compatible upgrade components for my bike?
I have an 05 KHS Flite 900 with the stock Campy Veloce setup on it. I've been thinking about upgrading to some new bits, specifically the crank, both derailleurs and levers. Is there a limit on what Campy parts I can put on the bike, year-wise or otherwise?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Most 10 spd Campagnolo parts are interchangeable. There are few combination that will not work with out modification. A newer ultra torque crank will need the new BB, since you have a square taper BB. The only difference is the material used, making it lighter as you go up the group sets. If your thinking of upgrading allot of components look at a complete group set and then you can go 11spd.

I am not an expert on such things, however if you have the Veloce triple you can upgrade to nearly any campy crankset. I assume if you want to upgrade the crankset your probably not interested in keeping a triple crankset. I can't speak concerning the new 11 speeds but many websites have 09 or older Centuar, Chorus and Record cranksets reasonably priced (for campy) in both the traditional 53/39 or compact 50/34. I believe the Veloce triple had the square taper botton bracket and the newer doubles were the ultra torque in which the bottom bracket was integral to the crankset. The weight savings for replacing the crankset could be 1- 1 1/2 lbs. I am not convinced of the advantage of replacing the ergo shifters unless your ungrading to an 11 speed groupo (in which you'll probably be replacing everything). My understanding is that the pre 2007 campy shifters worked pretty much the same, it was merely the materials which were different and primarily affected weight(ounces) more than performance. The lower cost newer campy shifters I understand do work differently than the Chorus/Record line. Again I am not sure replacing the front derailler would give you any performance advantage and I can't speak to the rear derailler especially if your not replacing your cassette. I own a 2002 Bianchi Eros which came with the Mirage Triple. I replaced it in 07 with a Centaur compact double and have been happy.
