Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What Would U Pay....?

For a Used Trek Madone 4.5 (2008)

They are asking $1500 - Includes computer & look 130g pedals

The bike is in pretty good shape, not scratched, dings, or dents. Is it worth this much? Don't really care too much about the pedals.

seems reasonable- inspect it closely to make sure it hasn't been under any impact that would damage the carbon (but not necessarily cause scratches/dings)

Yeah sounds decent Id guess 105 components just so you know though your not getting the nice oclv carbon but im sure you knew that. I probably wouldnt buy it but I worry about dumb **** like OCLV vs the **** thats made in china (your bike) Given the option Id get the OCLV but it is quite a bit more money.

Sounds reasonable. Flex the heck out of it. If you hear any creaks get them checked. If it's frame then pass. Agreed, it's probably 105 so I'd try to go down to $1200. Your call. GL

I just got a new 08 leftover 4.5 for 1500. It was stock and didn't come with pedals or computer. I'd offer them a little less...can't hurt.

overpriced. i passed on a 2007 giant tcr c1 (full ultegra) + cateye + pedal at $1500. as a previous poster suggested, bargain it down to $1200. depending on where you live, you can get better craigslist deals if you wait.

I don't really care about the pedals as I have my own. I'm gonna offer him 1200 w/o the pedals. Thanks for all the help.
