Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Go Naked... or not

I'm sure many of you have seen the world naked bike ride thing... if not search google.
1) Have you any issues doing the world naked bike ride?
2) Have you done the world naked bike ride?
3) Are you doing the world naked bike ride next time it comes around?
4) Are you planning to join in the ride, just with clothes on?

It's a pretty interesting theory, showing the world how vulnerable a cyclist is by riding in the buff.
I might do it next year if there's a ride in my area, although I won't be naked - still too taboo for me.

I don't particularly care for it. I'd not do it just to spare the world the sight of my pale Clydesdale ass.

What do you do with you balls? It seems like they would fall on one side of the seat and get crushed between you seat and leg.

They've been on a saddle before, I'm pretty sure they know what to do.

I did it once - had no problems. Of course, one person did ask why I was cycling in an old leather suit

I'd imagine ball crushing could be avoided fairly easily. I've ridden in loose shorts commando, and made out OK.

I think it'd be much nicer for males to be on recumbents, however.

I don't think they do a ride like that near me, but I also don't think I would participate. Somehow I feel that the intended message of the ride would be lost in translation so to speak.

One year I was waiting for the start of the 24 hours of Montezuma race to start when I noticed a young woman riding toward me wearing a tutu. There were others following her.
Then I notice that she was only wearing the tutu skirt. The rest of the racers were totally naked. After doing the initial lap up and then down the street they put shorts and shirts on and took off racing.
It was funny and just the sort of thing you expect in Summit County, Colorado.

Anyone else notice that these "naked events" usually do not include samples of the most beautiful people?

According to their web site, "A peaceful, imaginative and fun protest against oil dependency and car culture. A celebration of the bicycle and also a celebration of the power and individuality of the human body. A symbol of the vulnerability of the cyclist in traffic."

So, technically it should be in A&S. But how often do you read those posts?

There is a "Critical Tits" ride every year at Burning Man - all the women, naked, on bikes. I've got lots of pics somewhere.

For naked men on bikes, I would be particularly concerned with the saddle-to-bar drop. For God's sake man, don't FLIP IT!
