Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shimano Ultegra Shift levers delaminating?

Anyone have the issue where the shift levers delaminate and totally look like crap even though it works fine? I'm selling a bike and would rather it look nicer.

Anyone have any suggestions re: sanding etc?

can't seem to get pics to upload, so check out this thread:

Not trying to drum up business, but an honest question.

Ah, so further research suggests corrosion. Anyone try sanding and possibly coating with nail polish to fix it up?

Mine started a couple years ago. I haven't done anything to fix it. I know its not road rash cuz I've never wrecked. *knock on wood*

Yup, it's weird. Definitely not from crashing, but it just looks bad. Think I might try sanding them and using nailpolish on them.
