Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you get a Merlin, you've got a good shot at owning it long enough that you'll need a thread on restoration.

I regularly ride with 3 other merlin owners here. You won't see a ton of them... which, in my opinion, adds to the appeal. How about a pic?

My '04 Cyrene.

Every year I keep meaning to upgrade the 'full bike' picture below (distracting background) but never get around to it. One of these days . . . .

I see one every day. It's sitting right beside me now. It's blue ... so I think it should be mine.

So since the Thread's been bumped into 2015, I'll update:

I did buy the replacement decals, but decided to go with just the bare frame. Clean look, and no worry about scratching decals in transport.

Like you said, since the thread's been bumped into 2015, here ya go

Early '90's Extralight. Reynolds Assault Tubulars now de-stickered. Frame looks like it did when it was built over 20 years ago. Like a previous poster said, that's what I like about Ti.

It has been bumped in memory of coasting.

Rest in peace, coasting ... tailwinds ...
