Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

SRAM Red.

(By the way, it's either group or gruppo; there's no such word as groupo.)

If you can afford it Super Record is the best (well some may not agree). Otherwise I would get Red.

What help? All you got was a bunch of people spewing out what advertising department they have fallen prey to.

Edit: I realized that perhaps you work for an advertising agency and are covertly conducting a survey. In which case, I guess you did get help.

Super Record. It's cooler than the others. It will separate you from the shimano sheep. Buy it now. Buy a set for me. Buy it now. Buy a set for me. Buy it now. Buy a set for me. Buy it now. Buy a set for me. Buy it now. Buy a set for me. Buy it now. Buy a set for me. Buy it now. Buy a set for me. Buy it now. Buy a set for me.

For a new bike that wouldn't run larger tires and fenders, I'd go Rival or Force. For a new bike with larger tires and fenders I'd go Ultegra or Dura Ace with R-650 brakes.

Why not Rival or Force regardless of tire size and just buy appropriate brakes to meet the purpose?

I think the brakes are the least important item when it comes to choosing a group. Not that brakes aren't important, but that they have no impact on how the rest of the group performs. You can easily step out of the box for brakes... unless of course you drink the "everything must match" kool-ade.

I've got bikes with DA 7800, Campy Record 10 and SRAM Red. Love 'em all. Slight nod to SRAM. I've never tried DA 7900 or Campy 11 speed Record or SR.

Sell the old crank since Campy folks will still pay a small fortune for it.

Buy Red.

Ride lots.

Ah, is your current crank an 11 speed? If not, you will want to build it with 10 speed parts.

im not positive, but i dont think there would be a problem with running an 11-sp drivetrain with a 10-sp crank...
