Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone riding Hincapie Sportswear?

Our collegiate team is likely going with their kits this year. Wondering if anyone has anything good/bad to say about their chamois, fit, etc.?

We'd been with Hincapie for two seasons.

Their stuff was good quality.

We are switching companies this year because Hincapie's sizing this past goaround was tremendously off from the fit-kit they sent us.

I had some Hincapie stuff a couple seasons ago. The bibs were real comfortable. The jersey was flimsy and the pockets ripped at the seams. But that was the only issue.

Really quality stuff, but you pay for it. Fit is weird, but really every company is weird in it's own way.

I've noticed that my Hincapie jersey's pocket has a small tear here as well. I love the fit and feel of the jersey though.

the sizing runs way too big. I'm a small guy (5'7") and wear size small clothes. With Hincapie, I have to order an xxs jersey and xs bibs to get a race fit. Also, be prepared for them to eff up your designs the first few batches (ie colors/lines don't match the way they are on paper).. never fails for us. It takes about 2 or 3 reorders for them to get our design right. Other than that, i love the fit.

I've had no problems with the stuff I've got. Bibs are very nice, as are the jerseys.

Our team rides with hincapie gear and it is great. The bibs, jerseys, skinsuits, and everything else that I have used are all of very high quality and comfort. You can't really go wrong.

Just make sure you have your team try on some sample gear to get an idea of what size everybody needs.

Also 5'7. Bib straps on mine were made for a much taller guy.

Hincapie has two different size schemes....race cut and club cut. I have a jersey in each cut. The race cut is narrow and gets longer with larger sizes. The club cut is for broader chest and shoulders and gets fuller with larger sizes. The race cut jersey fits my chest but it's too long.

I have two sets of team kits in Hincapie... Fit is OK but not very comfy. Chamois isn't even very effective. I prefer our Voler kits from several seasons ago.

Here's the deal: I have a pair of Assos FI Uno S5 bibs on the way in the mail from Wiggle...

Update from my previous post.

Just happened to pick up a team windbreaker earlier. Sizing has definitely changed. I had to go up one size, as had to most people on my team. Arm warmers are way big, I got a XXL jersey, but got M arm warmers. Still dig the quality though, and our LBS ordered enough for it to work out in the end, but still a bit of a pain in the behind.

I have the same issue with my LG jerseys, as do countless other riders I see with LG stuff.

My Hincapie jersey is in great shape, but the fit is awful - nothing like the fit kits we received (I took the sides in 1" each).

We're currently riding with Garneau and the fit and quality have been excellent?

comfortable but...

The jerseys are excellent for me. The bibs have a great chamois, but the straps tend to slip to the side on me. I'm constantly pulling them up my shoulders. I don't have scrawny shoulders either (I do plenty of upper body lifting).

Can somebody comments on how the bibs compare to some other brands? I ride Sugoi RS or Voler.

I found sizing to be larger than Voler.

I have a Voler kit from 3 years back in medium that still fits me, but my Hincapie kits are smalls and only slightly more snug.

You may want to hear from someone with more recent Voler bibs.
