Anyone been to the Big Stampede in Charlotte?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone been to the Big Stampede in Charlotte?

Long time reader, first time poster.

I've got the itch to upgrade to a bike worthy of my wannabeness. I've heard that the "Big Stampede" at the Lowe's speedway in Charlotte (November) is something worth checking out. I was told by unreliable sources that teams in the region will dump their bikes at this event and/or that cash money will get a great buy. Is this true? Should I wait until then to get a bike? Looking in the 2k range.

I've been watching ebay and haven't seen the deal too sweet to pass up yet. Something about buying a bike I can't see in person... However, I'm about to bid on a 2008 orbea opal...
