Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A) What hill?

B) How do you walk up a hill in bicycle shoes?

The guy probably had a mechanical issue...at least that'd be my excuse.

I'm just guessing that either the Colnago didn't have as good an engine as your bike or else its rider didn't know you were racing.

why is it assumed that if someone passes another on a ride that the person passing is racing?

Looks like the wheels are Lightweights and they have only recently started making clinchers with very few produced so far

I'm not sure that's even a real photo. Look at the valve stem on the rear wheel, it sticks out of the side of the rim.

Ok, so what's going on with the valve stem? Does it really come out of the side of the rim like it looks?

Was this on River Rd. Alpine approach, yesterday on the MS ride? I'm pretty sure I know who it is.

Otherwise, there is a funny, older guy who always rides his Colnago Ferrari around Piermont Bikes on Sundays. He's a legend...

He was coming back from a 6hr training ride with some nasty cat1s and 2s. He held on and finished but didn't have enough for the hill home. Congrats!
