You don't really want to ride a bike that nice UPhill, do you?
Seriously, I had a similar situation on my Sat AM ride. Stopped at a light, pulled my hankey out of my jersey pocket, and unbeknownst to me, a small 6" x 6" eyeglass cleaning rag fell out of my pocket and on to the chain. When the light changed, I started out and the rag got pulled into the RD causing it to get sucked in the rear wheel, and "SPRONG!" the RD broke in half.
Had to hoof it home 5 miles in my riding shoes.

I know my car can do 100 mph (almost any car can), but I almost never drive it that fast. What a waste of a car... Maybe I should limit myself to an old Ford Maverick that has engine problems, and maxes out at 70 mph since I always drive less than 70.
If nobody pushed up a hill, we would miss out on thought provoking threads like this.

No he didn't know we were racing. But in my defense, I don't think I could have ridden slower without toppling over. It was the hill up from Nyack Beach State Park. I was actually pretty excited not to pass him but just to see the bike. I don't know how I came off as giddy. If you have to walk, you walk it. I know as well as anyone that when you pass someone on the road it means nothing (like all the MS "racers" sprinting to pass me only to be caught a few meters later).
