Starter help :)
Im completely new to the road bike game. My Purpose is for cardio/Training reasons and not to use my car as much as possible during the Spring, summer, and fall months. Problem is i dont know any one around with decent knowledge. Im 6'5" weighing in at 210 ( in bulking process to fight at about 235 for kickboxing) more legs than torso. Im willing to pay good dollar for my first bike but obviously nothing crazy. So any pointers in the right direction would help alot..thx.

What is your price range. Most people here may have a very different idea of good dollar when it comes to bikes.

You will probably need to spend $1,000-1,500 to get something decent.

At the top of the forum list, there is a thread called Introduction to Road Cycling: References and Newbie Questions. Specifically about buying a bike, go to this thread How to Buy a Good Road Bike. It will explain all you need.

The new Cannondale CAAD8-6 at an MSRP of $1059 would be good. Good starter componentry (Shimano Sora/Tiagra), and what looks to be pretty danged strong 32 spoke wheels for a guy of your size and goal weight. Other posters are correct, for your goals something around $1000 will do what you want, ride nicely, and be decently maintainable.
