Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

rival & ultegra

I bought a new frameset and am building it up and am in the middle of deciding between rival and ultegra. Leaning toward rival because it appears i can get it for around $200 less...

I have a wheelset I am going to put on the bike, the rear wheel is setup for shimano 9 speed. Do I need to buy anything to make it compatible with the 10 speed SRAM? Will the the 10 spped SRAM cassette fit on the shimano freehub? If not what do I need to buy?

10 speed SRAM is the same as 9/10 speed Shimano, the cassettes fit on the same freehubs.

I just replaced my old Ultegra 9 speed with Rival 10 speed.

With 20+ years on Shimano and being pretty green on double tap, I like the shift action a bit better on the Shimano, but for the price difference, give me Rival every time.
