Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bike Stolen. Replace or ???

So unfortunately someone cleaned out my garage on Monday and took my baby with them. 2009 Cervelo S1. I really like the bike but had only put about 500 miles on it so could still be open to other options. My question to the BF think tank is: Should I replace my S1 or get something else? By "something else" I am looking for your suggestions about other bikes in the same price range (up to $2400).

Thoughts?

I agree...if you likes the S1, stay with it, or change things on it this time around...if you didn't like it, say what you didn't like and maybe someone here can recommend a bike that fits what you are looking for.

sorry to get off topic, but what did your homeowners require from you to prove the bike you had?

i have pictures of all of my bikes, but really no receipts anymore, i would like to be prepared incase the unthinkable happens myself.

keep us posted on whatever you wind up with!

Stick with the Cervelo. But the mere fact that you are actually contemplating replacing it with a different bike makes me think that you are somehow unhappy with what you lost.

Negative. Wasn't unhappy in the least. But I know that there are millions of opinions out there about whats good for that price range and I kind of just wanted to hear what people had to say. I know that my Cervelo fit was great but not so ignorant as to think I couldnt achieve a great fit on another bike too.

They wanted receipts and serials. I didnt have either so I just called up the shops where I got my bikes and they luckily had the stuff on file in their databases. Worked out.
