anyone have a orbea orca??
Saw this bike while riding today, one of the best looking bikes ever. Had to get a better look so i rode to the lbs that sells them. This bike has great lines, anyone have one? Hows it ride? I'm sure as good as it looks.

I had the first generation of the new Orcas, 2007, for ~6 months. Nice riding frame and the aesthetics are great.

I ride a 2009 Orca. 60 cm frame. I would say that it is a very good climbing bike - the bike feels and is faster when cranking up hills. It jumps when you ask it to. It is very stable at 48 mph down hill. The construction and finish is very nice too. On poor roads with asphalt patching, cracked pavement, etc, it is a little harsh. If you drop the air pressure a little bit on the front tire, like 5 or 8 psi, it rides better. If you order an Orca from their web site, they only offer Shimano and Sram build ups. I use neither and chose to find a virtually new frameset on Ebay, and built it up with Campy Chorus. The end result is a really nice bike that performs well and looks awesome.

my friend raced one and yes they are beautiful. He had the black and neon green frame from what I assume was a few years ago. His in particular was fairly light and he said it was a fast one.

I have a 2008 Orbea Orca, carbon everything, and it is a phenomenal bike. Accelerates great, corners great and looks awesome (I have the all black version).
The only thing that holds this bike back is my ability (or lack thereof)

You rode all the way to the Orbea dealer and didn't take one for a test ride? Especially when you are obviously in the market for a new bike. Dude, you do not know how to shop for a new bike. I'm not even in the market for a new bike and I've probably tested more bikes in the last month. Just buy something already.

I have the 2009 black matte finish. Ride is smooth, great acceleration, cornering, handling. The 2010's look awesome.

My Orca is stiff and responsive. It climbs very nicely and would do better if I had more strength in my quads than I do. Mine is a bit twitchy on downhills if I get distracted. I don't know why and every other Orca owner I've talked to says theirs isn't like that.
It's a HUGE change over my previous alum Trek.

so how good is an orca compared to say a madone?
i think both are beautiful but orca has the edge.
