Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Critique my fit...please

Yes I am fat (215) and my cloths don't match. Other than that, how about some feedback on my form/fit. I have only been riding for 4 months and I still feel like it just isn't right.

is there a reason you are asking?...it looks fine...but only you can tell if it feels like a good fit.

seems good from here, as long as your comfortable everything is probably good to go. now get out on the road so soon you wont have to start your threads with "yes i am fat"

you arms need some more bend. you need to bring the bars a little higher and maybe closer.. possibly just a stem flip or move it up the spacers.

or start off with a horizontal bar bike where you'll feel more comfortable. dont ask why i recommend this, but i was once fat and i started off with a horizontal bar.. so my back doesnt hurt like **** and i can go long distance for a good cardio workout. yes.. overweight ppl have bad backs.. but core exercises eliminated that problem in no time.

then i got into road bikes and voila, i got a semi 6pack LOL. dam % body fat wont go under 8.. dam genetics or lack of determination

but honestly, you arent fat, just chubby. theres a diff xD
well acceptance is always a good start, glad you got into biking. burn off those ***ers

p.s.
how much you get your bike?

looks like you got it to within centimeters. Possibly millimeters. Don't be afraid to tweak it by a couple millimeters here or there. It's taken me three years to get a really dead on fit. Looks good though

Very nice. It will all get easier when you lose a few--the thighs stop hitting the gut so your cadence and oxygen intake can go up, and the twins will have a little breathing room. You've got a fine textbook fit, but I wouldn't begrudge you flipping the stem to give your diaphragm some space to do its job until the gut gets smaller.

I had to raise my stem a bit until my gut got smaller, too.

I don't see any big problem either. Certainly no need to move the bars higher or closer. I'll say this again though, if you have too much weight on your hands and discomfort from it, move the saddle back a bit. More than 5mm may require a shorter stem to keep the reach about the same.

When you're over weight, riding in the drops will most likely be a problem. That should be expected.
