Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Specialized Cranks and 11sp Campy

Will the more narrow chain work with Specialized's cranks?

Yeah, Yeah, but you're locked into Specialized chainrings so by default it's the crank as well.

I think it will work. But, that's just a guess.

I've used so-called 9s cranks on 10s chains before, and it works. So....?

FSA makes chainrings for 110 and 130bcd spiders which are designed to work with Campy 11-speed drivetrains.

Most people who have converted to 11 speed, but use 10 speed cranks have not had a problem. Chainring spacing should be very close to the same for all modern 10 speed cranks. I used Chorus 10 with no problem.

The 11 speed chanirings are about .6mm narrower in spacing and the teeth are .1mm thinner.

It works pretty good, but I would pickup some FSA 130mm BCD 11sp rings when you have the chance. They work better than the 10sp rings. You also may try calling Specialized and see if they make a 135bcd spider to use Campy rings instead.

All Campy 11 rings only fit Campy cranks with one of the bolts located behind the crank arm. They won't quite work with a standard 5-bolt spider, even with the proper 135mm BCD. There's no bolt head countersink in the front side of one hole.
