My new 2009 Trek Madone 5.2 Pro....

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My new 2009 Trek Madone 5.2 Pro....

Just got it two weeks ago and love it. The only things I've changed so far is are to replace the stock seat with a Fizik, added Shimano PD- A530 Road Touring Pedals and a Bontrager Flat pack Draft Pack behind the seat. Thanks for looking and hope you all like the setup.

Very nice. Here's my '08.

Now flip it, put it in the big ring, line up the crank horzontally, turn it around and go find a white garage door.

...and flip the stem, hide the valve stems behind the fork & seat stays, ditch the saddle bag and spoke reflectors (water bottle is often a close call but since yours is nothing of interest, remove that too)
Also bike should be facing other direction, displaying the chainring/derailleur.

Congratz on the new bike.

And don't forget to cut off the dork disk and make sure the valve stems are neatly hidden from view

Edit: DOH!

Reflectors and pie plate...stem is fine if you're over 40 or 250 lbs. Nice bike.

Are Trek's good bikes?

Threads like this are the reason why there's a lot less bike porn on BF. Why post pics when you'll just get flamed?

OP, nice bike. Enjoy it.

Congrats on your new bike. Hope you enjoy it.

While there has been some debate over the value of the dork disk, I think few would argue about the reflectors. Your bike is too nice to have reflectors. Or a dork disk, for that matter, but that seems subjective.

You best put a second bottle cage on or we'll all know you only do short rides.

We only give you a hard time because we're jealous...just ride it.

the factory installed plate that keeps an improperly tuned RD from running into the spokes and F'ing your bike. They're pretty much unnecessary because if your RD is that badly out of tune, you don't deserve a bike anyway.

I don't agree with the lack of deserving a bike. Not everyone is a mechanic.. not everyone uses the largest rear cog. Either way, it won't even stop the derailleur.

Congrats, enjoy your new bike, Trek make fantastic bikes and the bontrager components aren't bad either. A lot of people like to bash trek and bonty for some reason though. Ignore the naysayers and just enjoy your bike.
