Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New bike, thought id gloat

Fuji SL-1 (this: https://www.performancebike.com/bikes..._1073317_-1___ )

But it was actually 2,000 at the store.. then 10% off (will get 10% more off later whenever they get a 20% discount, they have a nice 90 day low price guarantee policy).. and $180 back in performance points

so for that bike going to end up with $1600 paid and $180 back in performance points... not too shabby for full ultegra, mavic elites, and a fuji sl-1 frame. Crank is mediocre to bad but its okay.

And yeah, ill flip the stem when trainer season is over

Overall im very happy (for i am broke and its a good price), staff at performance bike shop were also real helpful, did a fitting and swapped a stem out.

Time to take it on its maiden voyage.. on a trainer

later

Here I was expecting not to like this bike since I rarely see Fujis I like...but that is a nice lookin' bike you've got there!

I LOVE the silver spokes/rims/hubs. Ugh, I really don't like the trend going on now with black rims/spokes/hubs and I even have a wheelset like that. Silver looks much, much nicer, especially with a black bike.

I even like how silvery and shiny the collar clamp is!

Very nice bike, enjoy it!!

It does seem weird to have an FSA Energy crank on there, considering they didn't cheap out on the brakes or wheels. The combo on the Performance 20% sales plus the 10% store credit makes for some great deals on already discounted end of season bikes. Nice ride!
