Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Harder to read, harder to use, less information on a page, way too many graphic gimmicks that don't contribute anything. Why do we need all those format choices for a board like this?
This post will be disappearing in five, four, three, two...

UI testing needs to be done on smaller screens..can't see much on my macbook.

And beta testing is a good thing.

With all the ads and the near 6 inches of 'non forum content' screen space at the top of every page - you have dig down for the actual forum content -

Firefox + Adblock Plus = no ads.

Agree with others on the overall layout, etc.

I use NoSquint on Firefox to increase font sizes. It remembers each website's font changes for the next visit, too.

Still -- this new font is really thin and hard to read.

EDIT -- my eyes! It's really hard to read the "What's New" page. Use larger serif fonts, please.

I'm now reading at 130% of the text size. That helps somewhat, but I'm scrolling a lot now, and can only see about 1 1/2 posts on the screen at a time.

Oh, the reply works differently.

I don't see too much difference. Okay, font is smaller, but I use a smaller font. The icons, okay, they're more "iconic", more "mac-like" or "iphone-like" as someone described a particular logo to me (not the BF one). I switch between a 13" mac, 15" laptop, 17" laptop, and a 19" desktop (all single monitor). This is fine for me.

Since I gave money, I don't see ads.

Hopefully the site is more reliable (it's been good for a while), search is quicker, etc.

How is it that a forum can cause eye strain? How did the developers miss that little issue when they created this UI? This is horrid.

Brutal.

It's like they combined the worst software idiots from Yahoo and Microsoft, and then hired WHHOOSSHHY as a consultant. And nice font, I think this is 6 point type.

Amazing.

It's either getting better or I'm getting used to it at a much faster pace than I thought. Now I can see lines between threads and signature sections and some gray button backgrounds have gotten darker

Hrm... is there no option to change the UI back? All this white is hurting my eyes. Plus you see even less on screen than before...

Now that I'm home from work, and can view this on a regular monitor instead of an iphone...damn, this makes my eyes hurt. Was repulsiveness high on the agenda? Mission accomplished.

New features are cool but I really liked the old layout. The new one is way less efficient.
