Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Little pre race day pr0n for you...

In my endless vanity I decided to make a thread just to show you this. Just borrowed the DA wheels for a TT tomorrow morning.

Too bad they're clinchers and way too heavy for how much they cost. My buddy was going to let me borrow his EC90 Aeros and when I went to pick them up he got all excited and decided to do the race so I got stuck with these; eh at least they're not my Ksyriums.

They feel about the same as my Ksyrium ES with the same cassette on them I'd say they're 1400-1500g. I would never go out of my way to buy these wheels I'll leave it at that, BUT it'll be a nice little boost for the TT.

I dont think 1400-1500gr is heavy for a 50mm wheel, but I guess you have to figure the price as well...I'll assume you meant 'heavy for the $$...

They aren't even close to 1400-1500g. I think those wheels are like 1700g unless they just came out with something new.

EDIT: ...and $1900? Damn.

They def don't feel heavier than my ES so I doubt they're 1700, and yes I meant the weight to price ratio is a bit whack. You can get Reynolds carbon clinchers that weigh less.

Shimano and Excelsports both say 1695, unless I'm looking at the wrong thing. I doubt anyone would say a weight heavier than their wheels actually are. Granted, Ksyrium ESs are mid-1500s, so you probably have only about 100g difference, which would probably be hard to tell just between hands (I actually don't think it would be that hard to tell, I'v never tried and that is the only explaination I can think of - or I'm a moron and looking at the wrong wheels.

Hope the wheels help. I found that the biggest bag for the buck for TTs on a roadbike was clip on handlebars. See if you can get a pair to practice on the results for me were far more noticeable than moving from my ESs to $)$ tubes.

Good luck tomorrow

Thanks guys, I don't take TT's too seriously so I just go at it on my road bike and just stay as tucked as I can for as long as I can. The race is in Corona CA by Tom's Farm.

Thats the TT I photo'd last year. I was hoping to ride that this year, let us know how it goes. It started drizzling last year and my uncle flatted out...

oh geez, like those wheels that are "too heavy for the cost" are gonna make a difference in your "race"
