Williams 58 Clincher vs. Neuvation C50C weight differences?
Doing some research for a new set of race wheels for next season. I am cat 1 who primarily does crits and flat road races. I have a tire sponsorship deal so I will be riding clinchers next season and not tubulars since my sponsor doesn't make tubies... Have narrowed down my choices to the Williams 58's and the Neuvation C50C. Leaning towards the Neuvation because of the warranty plan offered. But I have many friends that have had good luck with the Williams but I have only been able to read about the neuvations on the web. Most of the neuvation liability issues seem to be with their aluminum rims.
The williams are listed at 1879 grams and are currently $999. I could not find a source online that could independently verify this weight.
The Neuvations are listed at 1600 grams and are currently $900. I also could not verify this weight but did find someone that weighed the tubular version and the weight was accurate to the listed weight on the website.
Question: Why the difference of 280 grams for essentially the same wheel? Half a pound of rotational weight is a big deal. Is the weight difference in the hub? spokes? Anyone know?

I have no idea on the weight difference but I do have an alloy set of Williams wheels and they have treated me well. His hubs are awesome and very fast IMO. 1800 grams is heavy but I bet once they get going they are like a freight train.
