Good seatpost w/ 30mm setback?
hey all, I am looking for a new seatpost to purchase sometime this winter as the stock fuji one on my bike is a pita to adjust. However, I currently have it set to have 30mm of setback. I know this is abnormally large, however, I feel that it may be because my bike has a 76 degree seat tube, which is more than most (I believe). So what seatpost options do I have (preferably not carbon). Or is it more likely that my position is off? I am relatively comfortable, I've done 200+ mile rides on this setup w/ no problems.

FSA K-force. 32mm of setback with a very nice 2-bolt rocker style clamp mechanism.

I would echo DaveSSS's suggestion of the FSA, but you mention you DON'T want carbon, so:
There are some Selcof posts on Ebay - model SP643, SP624 or SP64 (depending on the seller) that have ~ 25 mm setback. They are around 300 grams for the 31.8 mm version and the micro-adjust is not as nice as the FSA version (it's even spelled MIRCO-ADJUST on the seatpost! ), but they work and are available in different colours if that's your thing.

meh, those sound rather crappy. Its not that I don't want carbon, but I'd rather avoid the added cost if at all possible. I will take a picture of my current seatpost setup just to make sure I am measuring the setback right.

Your choices here are all expensive. I have the FSA and its very nice. There is also the $$$ Ritchey Carbon Wayback with 45mm of offset, but it only comes in 31.6mm diameter (don't know what you have). And then there are the Look Ergopost 2 or 3.
All are pricey. I thought FSA made an alloy version but its no longer shown on their website. Ah, I found it - the SL-220. You'd have to find used like this one:
https://cgi.ebay.com/FSA-SL---220-all...26203018r13815
And 76 degrees?! That must be a tri/time trial bike.

Thanks for the help. Looks like I am going to be stuck with an expensive post, kind of sucks but its what I get for being a midget haha. And no, its not a TT bike, just a Fuji Newest 1.0 in 42cm. Even though it is a 42cm due to the extreme sloping geo it is more like a 48 or 50 in most other brands.
Regardless, I've attached pictures of the post/seat. I know they are blury, but my photog skills suck. But, you can see in the first one how between the center of the bolt and the center of the post (represented by the pencil) there are 3 ticks marks, representing 3cm or 30mm. The second picture is a broader shot just to show what the seat/post setup looks like.

Your measurement is not quite accurate. The pencil should NOT be vertical, it should follow the centerline of the seatpost. The distance from where this line hits the seat rail to the center of the seat rail clamps is the setback.
It is also possible that your saddle DOESNT need to be further back. This is a function of your femur length relative to your overall leg length. Search on Knee over Spindle or KOS and read the debate on this issue....

Ah! Thank you for the pencil tip. I completely overlooked that, thank you!
To clarify, I am not looking to move my saddle further back, I am just looking for a better post as slight adjustments in the tilt of the saddle (independent of fore and aft position is a pain with the design of the seatpost I'm using. I will remeasure tomorrow and update you guys, but I'm guessing it will be about 25mm of setback.

I've never used one, but VO is supposed to make quality stuff.

Looks high quality as you say, but definitely a little old fashioned, and with the pencil in line with the seatpost, I have a feeling I won't need 30mm...

It might look a little out of place on a modern road bike, but you could try this one:

I have that seatpost. It's well worth its money. built in a similar fashion to a thomson, only slightly rough on the edges, literally.
A few tweaks I would do to it to reduce chances of it creaking would be to give the 'U-cup' and saddle rail clamp section a light sanding, as the edges seem a bit concave, which leads to creaking. Once the jagged edges are sanded down, no creaking at all.
kalloy uno has a version with roughly 32mm setback.
and absolutely stay away from older profile design seatposts, they're total junk.

I own the FSA seatpost with 32 mm of setback and it works very well -- holds the seat well and is easy to adjust.
I have not used the Velo Orange seatpost but I have purchased a couple of things from them and they are a very reliable vendor.

I have the Salsa Shaft seatpost that came stock on my bike. It has 23 mm of setback and you can adjust the angle independently of fore/aft positioning which is nice. It's Al and not much heavier than a Thomson Elite.

FSA used to make the SL 220 with 35 mm of setback. I own two of them and I see them fairly consistently on ebay. Like this:
