Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did I get a steal? Park pre image tt

I just got a park pre image tt frame +fork for 500 shipped! according to the add its lightly used

I really have no idea what the frame is worth but I saw good reviews online and it looks bad ass!

Anyone ever ridden one of these things? Like it/hate it?

Did i get a crazy deal?

Also I have never ridden a tt frame but usually I ride 54-56 road frames... is this going to feel huge?

Not a rule writtenin stone, but a general rule of thumb is that TT frame that fits will usually end up being 1 size smaller and about 2cm shorter in the top tube. So if you ride a 56 and got a 54 TT frame you are probably pretty close.

It's only a good deal if it fits. The price is fine, unfortunately it looks like it's going to be too big for you to get into a proper TT position. Start with one size smaller than your road bike and go from there. It appears that since you didn't research any of the hundreds of topics on the internet about TT bike sizing that you in fact, didn't get a good deal. Unless you can make money on it, which is unlikely.

Im not using this as a tt bike although I was unaware of how the size differences worked which is obviously my own fault.I'm using this to build up a commuter so As long as I can reach the pedals with the seatpost all the way down I'm fine with it. Is it likely going to be so big I wont be able to reach the pedals comfortably?

Lightly used yet 3 knicks (read dents) on frame wtf? I wouldn't hesitate to buy preowned but I draw the line at dented frames. Let us know how it works for you.

If the bike is dented I'll dispute the claim on paypal , get my money back and probably still ride the bike, although I'm not exactly sure how your reading nick as dent "wtf"

Well...as a fellow ParkPre owner, it looks like a pretty good deal. You won't know the fit until it shows up and you build it up...as a commuter? That's kinda wierd but to each their own.

I bought my Image C6 new off of eBay and have enjoyed it. I hope it all works out for you.

I bike a decent bit and everyday. I really enjoy building bikes but I've also always been really anti fixie and even singlespeed just because of the trendyness. I did decide that I wanted a single speed for practicality of it so I thought it would be fun to do something really out there but different than the whole hipster fixie thing. I figured a tri frame would be a good start. I think i might put a ghetto disc on the back just to be stupid.

If that is your intended use and it works for you, then yes, it's a fine deal. Have fun with the build.
