What's missing in the above graph is the sarcasm quotient. Do you also have graphs for similarly inverted phrases such as, 'I should be so lucky!' and 'Tell me about it!'? Both of which mean the exact opposite of the words used. Many such phrases can be traced back to a time when people actually spoke to each other face to face, where a lot was communicated with inflection, pacing and sarcasm.

Has coddling tendencies.
That doesn't make sense. When you sarcastically say "I'm so lucky" you mean the DIRECT opposite, "I'm so unlucky", from one end of the spectrum to the other end. But when you say "I could care less", the phrase is ambiguous. You could mean "I care a great deal" or "I care just a smidgen more than not caring at all". It cannot possibly convey the sarcasm.

As funny as it may seem (crap, this grammar discussion has me doubting myself on which spelling to use for seem), I got the gist of that post without a problem.
