OMG... I was wrong
I thought Assos was all marketing... until I got a pair of FI Uno S5 as a gift this week.
All I can say is, Wow!

Well, they do fit extremely well. I still like my Castelli and wear it a couple of times a month, but the Pearls and Louis Garneau don't get any use now. I'd like to pick up an Airblock bib tight when they go on sale.

If I'm going more then 50 miles, the Assos Bibs are the only ones I reach for. Not cheap, but definitely well-made and durable. My butt thanks me after every long ride.

Should you order a size up when ordering Assos bibs? The Uno has my interest. I've ridden Pearl, Castelli, Descente, Sugoi and some lesser expensive brands so any comparisons are appreciated.

so far, for me I just can not justify the expenditure of $150 + for a pair of bibs. I have no doubt that what you say is true, but for that price, I can get 3 pair of some other brand that will last until I loose enough weight that I go down a size.

I really don't understand the sticker shock some complain about. Most cycling stuff of high quality is expensive. If you buy the FI Unos from a Euro dealer they are around $150. That isn't really that much, especially in comparison to other high quality bibs. Compared to others I have (PI & Biemme) they are considerably more comfortable and better made. If you care for them properly and wash them gently they'll look brand new for years.
I picked up some of the RX knickers in October and I've worn them most days since, except when needing to wear full tights.
Frames, components, tires, pedals, sunglasses...it's all expensive to buy quality stuff.
As for sizing...I'm a medium in most things...bibs, jerseys, jackets (except for really small Euro cut ones)
I wear medium in PI bibs and the medium Assos fit very well. I'm 5'8" and 140 pounds, around 31" waist.

I have had bibshorts from many different brands, and the FI.Uno is by far the most comfortable for me. All I can say is the FI.Uno is in a different league all by itself in terms of comfort, no question. Before the Assos, the Castelli (YPro I think) was the best I ever had, and followed by the Descente Strata. With those other brands, no matter what, I always feel the presence of the chamois as a pad and that diaper feeling is always there, especially at the end of a long or longish ride. But with the Assos, the chamois hugs the contour of your bottom so well that you feel like you are not wearing a pad but just some thicker material around the inside of your thighs. Have I not gotten this as a gift, I probably would never buy an Assos because I was skeptical and also because of the high price, just like a lot of you . But how I am a convert and I know what others have been saying. I don't think I will ever buy any other brand of bibshorts. In fact, I am going to get a pair of Mille S5 and see how they work.

Yep, I've logged thousands of kilometers in Assos bib shorts and bib tights, including a bunch of 200k brevets. It's great to finish and be completely comfortable at the end.
