Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You know you've made it on BF when...

...an original snippet of yours makes into another member's signature.

I've been noticing it a lot more lately, and with the onset of Pcad's illness/NyQuil consumption/age, there should be many more to choose from. Botto's feistiness and the volumes of other posts generated by some of the more venerated members of this realm make me wonder when we'll all end up just becoming the same person.

Discuss.

I block sigs. They annoyingly take up too much vertical screen space in this new layout.

When you get an "Incorrect." from botto or a "johnny lunchpail flyover" from pcad.

THEN you know you've made it.

Man, I thought that it was some weird sick joke when I started checking out RBR forums. Some guy there has a "signature" that takes up easily 80% of the space of his post if he responds in four lines. Thankfully, he mostly posts in the RBR equivalent of FOO. The content of the "signature" totally blows.
Signatures aren't for me. No thank you.

I thought I'd made it on BF when Sheldon Brown answered a mechanical question of mine.

when your pointless thread generates 10+ pages, and someone doesn't bring up Nazis or Hilter.
