SRAM reach adjustment
I have had SRAM rival on my bike for a few months and have been perfectly happy with it. Browsing through some bikeforum threads the other day I saw a reference to "adjustable reach" on the shifters, which sent me scurrying to the quite thin installation docs. No mention of how to adjust the reach!
Internet to the rescue, google "SRAM reach adjustment" and get the info. I pulled my shifters & brakes in all the way, as close to the bars as they go. I love it! This is a terrific customization feature. Maybe I'm just an idiot for not knowing SRAM had this feature, but you'd think they would tell you how to adjust it in the included docs.

It looks like they never revised the installation instructions for Force & Rival when they updated and added Red's features. The reach adjustment is in the Red instructions though: https://www.sram.com/_media/techdocs/...er%20PRINT.pdf
Move the shift lever inboard to expose the reach adjust cam.
Push the cam in and turn counterclockwise to move the shift lever closer to
the handlebar. It may be helpful to use a pick. The shift lever has 6 different
adjustment positions.
» Pull back hood cover by hand.
» Use the small 3mm hex bolt to set the reach adjust of the brake lever. Turn the
bolt clockwise to move the brake lever closer to the handlebar until the brake
lever bumper just touches the shift lever.

You want to pulll in the brake lever. You want to independently adjust the the shift paddle, easy turn screw. Campy 11-speed looks good with multi-shiftand Shinani Dii2 electronics. I got SRAM RED icnluding GXP ceramic BB, for $1100, you are SOL.

Yes, Red or 2009+ rival & force. If you look on their website the rival/force instructions have not been updated since 2006. of course they don't mention the alternate cable routing either. Kind of lame, they should have updated the instructions IMO.
