I put in 2 hours today, with 31 mph winds gusting to 38 mph. At one point, it was all I could do to maintain 8.4 mph on a flat. Honestly, I think I actually slowed down going downhill once. I can't wait until May.

I hope you left the Zipps at home.
Seriously, I went riding on January 3rd, with temps about 20 and winds gusting to 40MPH, pretty scary....I learned to lean into the crosswinds, and be very careful on overpasses.

Yup, I bike commute and my ride home was purely brutal since it was straight into the wind. I love to ride, but you can have days like this back.

Winter wind can be completely demoralizing. It's in your face the whole way out and you keep telling yourself at least it will be behind you on the way in, but then it's even stronger in your face the whole way back. Wind is just mean.
One nasty day last week it was pushing me back so hard it was all I could do to even get into the big ring on the flats. A 25 mile ride felt like 40.

headwinds are the easy part of windy rides with my group. turning home with the tailwind, the hard guys push the pace to the limit.
