Has Bonktown lost its luster?
I stopped visiting Bonktown.com for a little while, and online in general (what was that called, oh year Summer/Fall). Now the past few times that I've been they've had the same pair of sunglasses up there each time. Are they even changing out merchandise anymore? Or have I just had crazy luck this week and happened to hit it at the wrong times? A year ago I was finding crazy deals on there for actual bike components.

I still can't accept the name of the website.
Anything named Bonktown should be all about crawling home at 5mph on the flattest route you can find wanting to eat your own arm.
To answer your question, though. probably.

It's rare to find good stuff now. They use to have great deals. Carbon tubulars for $900, Dura Ace cranksets on the cheap, bulk camelbak water bottles, etc. Now you see jerseys, cheap glasses, and the occasional bulk tube pack.

I still see the occasional carbon wheels, but they do seems to re-list items a lot. Unpopular items tend to keep popping back up since they probably have a decent amount of them and nobody wants to buy them.

Even for a clearance site, the deals are either too repetitive, or wicked expensive. I don't need to be buying a Pinarello frameset online, or race only tubulars for $999. You show me some Joe Average wheelsets, and some 105/Ultegra stuff, and you'd have my interest.

I bought some GP4000 tires from them once, and I don't think they have had anything interesting since then. For a while, they would have something inexpensive that I wouldn't mind ordering, but the deal would be killed by their shipping rates. Now it's just the same Zipp sweaters and drink mix on heavy rotation.

All I ever see is women's clothing items on there these days. I definitely think they're not putting up the good stuff anymore.

Even the "bargain" bulk tube pack loses its luster after you add in the shipping....PBK FTW.

Vain, But Lacking Talent
I got a great deal on a descente jacket from them before it got cold. They had a good deal on some Craft jerseys, but I had actually gotten a better deal on them at PBK not long before that. They are repeating frames a lot as well as those sunglasses, not to mention a thousand and one slow moving "Cutter" branded accessories. But I think if anything, this has got to be a low point for the average cyclists riding "season." I think they'll start kicking out more component deals closer to spring.

I still buy the occasional $20 jersey from them, every now and then a good deal comes up. You just have to get lucky.

I bought some Hutchinson Equinox training tires from them. They were fine. Occasionally I see the Mavic cassette -- that intrigues me, as it would be neat to put my Shimano-hubbed Ksryiums on my Campy bike.
Otherwise, I have all the sleeveless jerseys I need. Which is to say, zero.

Did BonkTown change its name from something else, or is there another site out there just like it? I can't remember the name of the site I'm thinking of and it's driving me crazy.

Chainlove was getting complaints for having too many mountain bike products, so they started Bonktown for roadies. Now they get complaints for having too many women's tops.

I check it a lot. I buy every now and then. I got a great set of Lake shoes skater-style to ride my fixed gear in for only $8. And they actually had my size!
But I don't see as many great deals as I used to.

FireFox has a bonktown add-in.
It sits down in the bottom of the window, really nice, and pops up every time the window changes. Although I have noticed of late that they are putting up lots of products multiple times. For a while I was thinking if I saw the 4 pack of cutter tubes again I was going to kill myself.

I almost bought some Hutchinson Fusion 2 tires for $19.99 just now, but I couldn't find satisfactory reviews in time to pull the trigger.
