Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

$1000.00 to purchase a new road bike, which one?

I am going to invest in a new bike. I ride anywhere between 20 to 60 miles at a time, ususlly 3-4 days a week. I live in Sacramento/Sierra Nevada mountain foothills. I am looking for a bike that I can get a good 10 years out of before I need to replace it. I have around $1000.00, give or take a couple hundred to spend. I fit a 55cm, which presents some of a issue for stock bikes. I have been riding a Fugi Crossbred. I am not intersted in a crossbred, I do want a straight road bike. If you have any recommendation I would appreciate you help.

Cannondale CAAD 9 or CAAD 8. Eight would be great, and give you room to grow into the bike. Upgradeable if and when you outgrow the components that come on it, or if you just want to later.

Cannondale works magic with Aluminum frames............
