lunch time workouts are great. since 2001 I've been doing something at lunch. at my peak I ran 3 miles a day 5 days a week at lunchtime. we moved the office so I can't get to that treadmill and that's stopped that. at the new office I brought in an old MTB to ride at lunch but I only used it a few times. I walk at lunch now - not great but it's something.
it especially feels great to workout at lunchtime when your colleagues eat at their desk and never leave the building! ha!

Making a kilometer blurry
Lunch is a great option. Also re-energizes me for the afternoon work. Well, my last one put me in the hospital, which cost a couple days' work, but you know what I mean.

No kidding.. I am the jack ass that is stuck at the desk.... I will admit by choice some of the time. Working downtown in Kansas City sort of puts you in the middle of ... well.... nothing really! Still no excuse however

I sit at my computer and eat potato chips during lunch, but I ride 31 miles R/T for work 4 days a week (hopefully 5 when the weather improves).

I have flexible hours, so I can always take the afternoon off to ride and just make up for it in the evening
I just wish the weather was a little bit better...

Have the bike stashed in a locker outside the back steps of the office and I hit the local bike path mid-day nearly every day. Normally do a 16-mile out and back. This is the only way I found to fit some exercise into my day. Found it's also a good mental break from the office.

When lunchtime rolls around, I'm out that door as fast as I can. It feels great to get out in the warmth, fresh air, and sunshine. Like you, I can only walk at lunch, but strolling around town looking at the green leaves, palm trees, and roses under the bright blue sky is SO much better than sitting at my desk.
I just wish I could commute to and from work by bicycle too ... to my new job. Unfortunately, however, I have not figured out where to store my bicycle. We're packed like sardines into our office because they've been on a hiring spree, so there doesn't appear to be any room for my bicycle inside, and I haven't seen any secure-looking storage areas outside either.

I ride at lunch whenever possible. This time of year, I ride a rusty old Schwinn mountain bike with slick tires that I don't care too much about. It's heavy and slow, but beats not riding at all. My low temp cutoff is 20°F, and I don't ride if it's raining or the roads are too wet. Yeah, call me a fair weather cyclist, but it's no fun to sit around in wet clothes.
We don't have showers, but I bring a change of clothes and figure that the tradeoff of maybe stinking a little is better than not exercising and being a sedentary fatarse.
I have a coworker that rides with me about 3 times out of 4. Trying to get others to join us but not having much luck so far.
In the summer, I'll sometimes go for another ride after work and before going home.
