Where do Shimano R600 Components Fit into the Lineup?
Looks like Ultegra (and sometimes is advertised as such), but I'm not sure.

Yes, predecessor to Ultegra.
105 is the 5 series parts (5500, 5600 and now 5700)
Ultegra is 6 series (6700 etc, R600)
Dura Ace is 7 series.

kinda and no... the st-r700 short reach STI units are said to be ultegra grade, but slot in with the same tech docs as the 105 stuff. the r700 crank is also used commonly as a replacement on 105/ultegra bikes, so honestly 700 should fall somewhere in that range. r600 would probably be a slight bit above tiagra or below 105.
