Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2004 Specialized Roubaix 27 vs 2009 Felt Z35

I'm trying to decide between these two used bikes. The Specialized has full Ultegra 6600 with about 700 miles on it and also some nice mavic wheels with about 200 miles on them. Also has carbon fork, seat stays, and seat post and zertz inserts.

The Felt Z35 is basically new and all stock (shimano 105), but with some spd pedals. They both seem like great deals, and the Felt costs about $350 more. I like how new the Felt is, and also that it is carbon, but I also really like the Specialized and the components. I'm not going to race, but enjoy rides anywhere from 30-100 miles. I like how both of these bikes have me sitting more upright on longer rides and I basically just need to make a decision soon.

Please, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes, both of them, but not on a long enough ride to really know which I like better. They both felt great to me.

Well since you like them both flip a coin! I have an 08 Felt Z25 (12,200 miles as of today) and am very pleased with it. So I'm suggesting the Felt AND it's newer. Upgrading components over time will keep you busy and the bike up to date.
Good luck on your choice and ride safe!
