Rotor 3D Crankset -- Is anyone using one? What do you think?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Rotor 3D Crankset -- Is anyone using one? What do you think?

Oval rings have been done before -- but is anyone now using the Rotor 3D crankset? Standard or compact? What do you think of it? Does it offer real benefits? Even if it doesn't, does it function (shifting, stiffness) as well as a comparable-level Shimano or SRAM crank?

The Cervelo Test Team seems quite happy with them. I'm sure they would be ok for you...

I believe you're wondering about Q-Rings, and not the crankset.

No, as indicated in my OP, I am interested in both. The crankset, primarily, but also the shifting performance of the rings, should they be retained. (I don't care a lot about the oval feature.)

Do you have some insight for me?

Odd that there are no BF reviews of this crankset, though. I thought the BF tried EVERYTHING!

(And, no. Just because a pro team uses it, doesn't mean it's the right product for me.)

I've used Q-Rings for a couple seasons. They don't shift as well as Shimano rings, but it would be unrealistic to expect that.

They shift just fine.

Did they really do anything for me? I don't know. I'm racing better now on round rings than I did the past two seasons with Q-Rings. But that may be because my training is better.

so. in a nutshell: i don't know.

Nothing is going to shift as well for you as your beloved Ultegra. It obviously shifts well enough and is stiff enough for pro teams though.
