Terry Fly compares to...Toupe or Arione??
Pics aren't really conclusive. Hard to tell just by looking at the pics. Other threads seem to say that if the Fizik Arione (middle support, flex on the sides) doesn't work for you then the Toupe style (sit bone support) will - and vise-versa.
My question is; Does the Terry Fly more closely resembly the Toupe design or the Arione design? The Fly seems to lean toward the Toupe design approach. Ya think??

they are not alike.. I suppose it would be closer to the Toupe 130 but the Fly has much softer padding. Arione has no cut out so it is just different.

I'd say it's similar to the Toupe but without the same amount of flex. The "magic" of the toupe is that after several rides it breaks in and appears to flex, so does the arione supposedly, but the shape is very different. The Fly is very flat, with a good amount of padding (going by memory) and has a pretty long nose. I used it for a while, and it was okay. The Arione has a bulge running down the middle and is supposed to flex at the sides (WingFlex) as well, I found that the bulge was painful as the support wasn't on my sit bones.
Both the Fly and Toupe were okay (in fact I really like the Toupe), and I remember the Fly being a bit narrower with less flex. I prefered the Toupe especially after using it for a while. I've never tried the gel versions though.

I rode an arione for awhile, didn't have a bulge down the middle, it just turned out to be the wrong shape for my undercarriage. flat as a pancake too, and while it did have some flex, it didn't have enough and it cut into places that should never be cut into. been fairly happy with my vitesse (woman's version of the aliante), although pondering going to an aliante if i can find a steal of a price for it.

I tried the Fly then Toupe 130, 143 and have settled on a Regal and a Rolls Due on my rain bike. cut outs caused more trouble than they helped.

I used a Fly for several years. When it broke, I tried an Arione and didn't like it. The Fly is lightly padded and the Arione seemed to have none. Ended uptrying an Aliante and keeping it.
