Have recently been scouring the net and CL for a used roadie as I've decided to get more serious with my riding and my 30 year old steel beast ain't cuttin it anymore. So I ran across this Grandis for $650. Tall enough for me (62cm), has Shimano 105 components. Look HSC carbon fork. Bontrager CX733 wheels. And if i'm to go by the writing on the frame it's 7020 Aluminum. Seller thinks it's a 2002/2003. Hasn't put many miles on it.

The only thing is, I can hardly find any info on these bikes, and certainly no value associated with them(apart from the seller stating it was $2500 new 7-8 years ago). All I've learned is they're built out of Italy. I'm familiar with shimano's range of parts, but am also wondering how a set of 105s from 2002/03 compares to today's lineup. Are they just as comparable as 2009/10 105 components?

This (as are most) of the rides i've been looking at are light years ahead of my current bike, but this is the first time i'm going to invest a fair amount of money into my hobby, so am looking for any kind of advice i can get before i dive in haha.

really good choice!! i read in the italian cycling journal time ago about the bike from usa to verona! the overmax is a perfect cross betwen an old style lugged frame and a modern high performance steel frame.my dear friend have one since 1998 and he would never change with nothing else
