Should I trade in a Magna Great Divide for a 1983 Schwinn World?
The Magna Great Divide is practically brand-spankin new. It still has the clear film over the logo and bar code stickers. The schwinn 10 speed, however, isn't so new. It is kind of rusty and needs a new rear wheel, and new brake & gear cables. The rust, I think, could be fixed with a sanding and repaint. It's at a co-op bike shop and they want to charge me $75 as the walk out price (all fixed), so i figured I can just trade in my Magna. It would probably sell a lot faster than the other bikes in the shop.
By the way, when i mean "all fixed" it's a still going to look crappy. I probably won't do a bottom up restoration until the summer.
Oh, and by the way, I'm going to have to do all the fixing up since it is a volunteer organization. The members get 1/2 off the sell price. He was saying it is worth $150, but I think that's BS.
