Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looking for a Tube for 24" x 1 (25-520)

I bought my son a Fuji Ace 24 and it's got 24" x 1 tires (25-520). I want to get some spare tubes for it, but am having trouble finding any. Does anybody have any suggestions?

thanks

I got 2 hits on products.google.com by searching for "inner tube 25-520". Both are Schwalbe SV9C, $6 to $8 (plus S&H and applicable sales tax, I presume).

Biketiresdirect.com usually sells them, but they look to be out of stock. You can also buy them from Terrybicycles.com.

Amazon has a number of hits for 24" bike tube, scroll through a bit. Here's a 24x1 presta valve for $3.49

While your local bike store may not stock the right size tubes they can certainly all order them in for you. Getting tubes in this size is not such a big deal. Just ask someone at a bike store to order them for you and if they wont then find another store to deal with.

I assumed that would not work because it's a 19-23, and I need a 25.

Looks like I'll go with the Schwalbe SV9C. That was the only one I had found also.

Inner tubes stretch a HUGE amount. A 19-23mm inner tube for a 25mm tire IS the correct size. It is preferable to have a slightly smaller tube than tire and actually not a good idea to have a tube thats larger than the tire.
